Riviera Maya, more than a catch phrase for a tourist destination and an incredible place to vacation live or play. The Riviera Maya or Mayan Riviera is a designated zone to the south of the Tourist Destination Cancun which today resembles Miamis Southbeach with her booming 5 Star Luxury Hotels and towering beachfront condos dotting what today has become a 100 yard wide 20 kilometer long stretch of man made real estate.

The Riviera Maya is a great contrast to Cancun's created tourist destination who recently celebrated 35 years of existence with its warm and friendly feeling and not over developed existence along stretches of pristine beaches stretching from the small somewhat still sleepy fishing village of Puerto Morelos to Tulums south border with the Costa Maya.

Mexicos Riviera Maya encompasses Puerto Morelos, Playa Del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras and Tulum as well as all of the smaller areas along the way. After all it would be negligent to not mention places like Playa Maroma, Xcalacoco, Paamul, Akumal, Soliman Bay and of course the Biosphere Reserve Sian Kaan.
